276.
Two Jugend magazine covers from 1927.
Munich: 1927

One Jugend cover (1927, no. 44) illustrated by Peter Hess depicts a group of figures, dressed in a range of historical costume, shooting at a target of money. One figure in the group is the grim reaper who takes aim at the figures rather than the money. The text in German reads "Nur einer ist, der in der Welt, Nicht schiesset nach dem eitlen Geld " [There is only one who in the World doesn't shoot after fools' gold). This cover was produced to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the German Society of Marksmen.

The second Jugend cover (1927, no. 28) depicts a boxer.
