203. A Meissen Porcelain Figural Group Late 19th Century
Modeled as a wild eyed satyr offering a scallop shell full of wine to a beautiful nymph, with a young satyr underfoot, the group standing before a tree stump, on a rocaille base embellished with gilding. Crossed swords mark with two 'seconds' slashes in underglaze blue, impressed number 51 and 57, also numbered 53 in iron red. 11" h.

Depicting a young boy attired in a black tri-corner hat, puce jacket and breeches, turquoise waistcoat, and black buckle shoes, seated upon a stool under which is stowed a basket of applied, polychrome flowers, with a dog leaning on his leg attired in a white tri-corner hat and yellow coat, supported by a gilt, pierced scroll base marked with underglaze blue swords 5" h.
