Depicting a young boy attired in a black tri-corner hat, puce jacket and breeches, turquoise waistcoat, and black buckle shoes, seated upon a stool under which is stowed a basket of applied, polychrome flowers, with a dog leaning on his leg attired in a white tri-corner hat and yellow coat, supported by a gilt, pierced scroll base marked with underglaze blue swords
