514. A Persian Meshed Carpet, 20th Century

The central floral medallion extended on two ends by palmettes inside a cartouche field of curling vines with stylized leaves, palmettes, and flowers, the corners of the central field also woven with vines and palmettes and small rosettes, inside a primary cartouche border with palmettes, all in cranberry, creme, midnight blue, navy, chartreuse, and hints of pink, orange, and brown. Wool pile on cotton warp. 79" x 123".
