523. A Persian Bakhtiari Carpet, 20th Century

The central field woven with an eight-pointed floral medallion inside a leaf-shaped ground, extended on two ends by a palmette and decorated with branches of flowers, all inside a large cartouche ground with palmettes and flowers, inside a meandering border, all in red, creme, navy, gray, pink, and mustard. Wool pile on cotton warp. 65" x 127".
