The rectangular hood with inlay medallions over a glazed door with arched top opening to reveal a painted face with a gentleman on a country lane along with a friendly dog, signed "M. Sichler", over a clock face with Roman numerals flanked by a pink cabbage rose, the interior fitted with a musical box, the lower portion of rectangular form with banded inlay, the door flanked by full columns over a shortened box base.

The rectangular box with enameled sides depicting motifs of the English countryside centered on the top by a courting scene, enameled in blue, green, red, white, black, yellow, and purple with an engraved brass frame, the bird with vibrant red feathers tipped in black revealing himself from the centered hinged oval cover, stamped on reverse "Made in Germany", including key.

The wood case in the form of a baby grand piano supported on three ebonized baluster legs, the hinged front reveals a keyboard and a book of music, the hinged top opens to reveal a recessed interior, the reverse marked with a paper label "Reuge, Serenade Allegro, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Swiss Musical Movement."
