315. A Beautiful Persian Serapi Carpet, Late 19th Century (8.8 x 13.8 feet)

The central field woven with a traditional Serapi medallion, centered by a smaller medallion with flowers extending from all sides, on a ground of stylized flowers and palmettes, inside a primary cartouche border of stylized palmettes, all in navy, rusty red, medium blue, creme, brown, and light blue. Wool pile on cotton warp.
