328. A Persian Heriz Carpet, Mid 20th Century (10.4 x 13.9 feet)

The central field woven with a traditional Heriz medallion, extended on two ends by a palmette, centered by palmettes and floral motifs, on a large hexagonal ground with flowers, leaves, and palmettes, inside a primary herati border with large flowers and serrated leaves, all in red, black, medium blue, creme, ochre, and pink. Wool pile on cotton warp.
