342. A Caucasian Shirvan Carpet, Early 20th Century (62 x 104 inches)

The central field woven with a shield medallion centered by a square woven with stylized motifs, extended on two ends by a space shuttle, flanked by a flower on either side, on a ground woven with more space shuttles, each corner of the carpet with a square centered by stylized motifs, inside a primary floral border, all in rich red, navy, creme, teal, and hints of yellow and orange. Wool pile on wool warp.
