This lot is comprised of two etchings.

"Departure". etching, 1939, from a second edition of 25 printed in 1981, signed in pencil, blindstamp in lower right margin, matted. 5-7/8" x 3-1/2" (plate).

Isabel Bishop was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and brought up in the Detroit, Michigan area. Early on, she moved to study and work in New York, and later taught at the Art Students League. Her most charming images are small glimpses of New Yorkers in every day life.
