Genre Scene: Family in an Interior.
oil on canvas, no discernable signature; unframed, 21-1/2" x 18-1/2".

Condition: Heavy grime and thick yellowed varnish layers; old restorations evident, paint is flaking in some spots; lower 1/4 of picture is blooming varnish and pigments. Note: Small dark rectangles at lower edge are conservator's tests. Results show that the varnish can safely be reformed so that the painting can then be properly cleaned and treated.
