Landscape and genre painter Georges Moteley was born in Paris and studied there with J. Lefebvre, Guillemet and G. Guay. He was a regular exhibitor at the Salon and showed for over 30 years with the Societe des Artistes Francais (1889-1924). Several museums in Normandy including those at Bayeux and Rouen own examples of his work.
