The cartouche shaped hinged top decorated with peasants at work in a rustic landscape, the conforming body decorated with colorful floral sprigs and a yellow and brown trellis pattern. 5 1/2" l. 3 1/4 " h.

360. A Porcelain and Gilt Metal Inkstand, Samson, in the Chinese Style

The cylindrical foote form decorated with pink peonies and yellow blossoms reserved on a yellow "crackle" ground, the foot and top fitted with a gilt metal fitting comprising an ink pot with hinged cover and quill holders, the rim with lion's masks, iron Chinese style overglaze mark and applied metal disk impressed France, together with two pens. 5" h.
