The rectangular box inlaid with a star in an oval medallion within a banded border, opening to a hinged fitted interior to facilitate the display of the medal, "Awarded by the Cleveland Press for merit in an essay on Abraham Lincoln." dated 1909. The obverse with a profile portrait of Lincoln. The medal stamped White*** & Hoag Co. Newark, N.J. the box 3 3/4 " x 3"

374. An Alexander II Enameled Glass Vodka Bottle, Russia, 19th Century

The shouldered form finely painted in polychrome enamels with the Romanov crest, enclosed within a ground of gilt scrolling foliage, surmounted by a gilt metal screw cap. 7 1/2"l.,4"w.
This flask was used by Alexander II (1818-81) on the royal yacht.
Provenance:Formerly in the Collection of India Early Minshall.
