385. A Russian Malachite and Gilt Bronze Inkwell, Late 19th Century

The oval form modeled as two love birds nesting in a flower-filled basket, the lid opening to reveal an ink cylinder and sander, all raised on a malachite veneer base. 3 3/4" h., 6" w., 3 3/4" d.

386. A Continental Gilt Bronze Crystal and Marble Inkstand, Mid 19th Century

The rectangular green marble stand raised on gilt bronze bun feet, fitted with a pair of heavy crystal inkpots, each with a gilt bronze top and hinged cover cast with a foliatedesign and centered by a seed pod finial. 10 3/4" l. 5 1/2" h.

The rectangular frame with an egg and dart cornice above a laurel swag and a centered oval medallion with archery trophy, the lower portion open for a glazed panel, flanked by foliate designs colored with gilt highlights and a gray wash, reverse with Holzheimer's Interiors Label. 72" h., 54" w.

The handpainted porcelain dial with a lofted cherub framed by Roman numerals above a fitted plaque with cherubs at play, all housed in an ornate body with ribbons, laurel swags, and foliate decoration, topped by a porcelain urn with metal mounts, accompanied by the pendulum. 22" h.
