138. A Persian Tabriz Carpet, Early to Mid 20th Century (8 x 11)

The central field woven with an elaborate starburst medallion extended at two ends by a large palmette on a ground of delicate palmettes, scrolling vines, and flowers, inside a primary border of "C" scroll leaves, palmettes, and flowers, all in sky blue, creme, mauve, red, yellow, and light brown. Signed in cufic in outer border. Wool pile on cotton warp.
