140. A Persian Kashan Carpet, Early 20th Century (50 x 80 inches)

The central field woven with a floral medallion extended at two ends by a palmette, on a field of flowers and curling leaves, each corner woven with a pattern of intertwining vines, inside a primary floral border and thin secondary floral borders, all in magenta, navy, creme, pink, blue, and green. Wool pile on cotton warp.

Condition: some wear to selvages, very slight variations in color throughout magenta background, possibly some light painting to magenta, a few moth eaten spots.
