144. A Persian Serab Carpet, Mid 20th Century (6.8 x 10.8 feet)

The central field woven with a pronounced hexagonal cartouche woven in herati patterning and extended at two ends by decorative motifs, on a field very subtley woven with a tiled hexagon pattern, inside a primary border of diamonds and rosettes, all in navy, creme, tan, shades of brown, and green. Wool pile on cotton warp.
