| 234. A Lot of Mexican Masks
By an unknown artist, the carved polychromed wooden mask with animal hair and aluminum represents a Moor character from the dance of the Moors and the Chrsitians and is possibly from the State of Oaxaca. The classic red-faced Moor mask has been further decorated by foil above each eye, and a scalloped line of foil running the length of either side of its face. The nose pushes out boldly and horizontal bars have been carved half way up the nose on wither side as the mustache. A shock of wild black hair tops off the mask; a carved and painted wood mask mounted with pronounced nose hair.; a carved polychromed wood mask of a Moor character from the dance of the the Moors and Christians, state of origin unknown.
