254. A Lot of Three Haitian Textile Flags

Comprising a cloth sewn with sequins and a color chromolithograph depicting a saint kneeling and praying, his face and hands are the images from a chromolithograph and the rest of his body defined by sequins of various colors sewn over the chromolithograph, the image squarely centered and enclosed in a rectangle of brown sequins, surrounded by a larger rectangle filled with circles of sequins on top more circles of sequins, surrounded by a border with a green background and half-circles along the edges 30" l., 31" w.; a second sequined piece, the flag of La Sirene, the loa of waves and music, shown blowing her trumpet, submerged in water with her hair floating around her, shown exquisitely attired wearing earrings and necklace of gold sequins, curved patterns defining her top and tail, the border comprised a series of black and white triangles, 30" l., 31" w.; and a third flag sewn with sequins entitled Roi du Soleil and has the effect of a mosaic achieved with widely spaced sequins, the face of the sun occupies the center with multicolor rays, resting on a gold sequin background, the border an architectural configuration of blue, white, black, and red sequins, 32" l., 31 1/2" w.
