Bronze with black patina, raised on a marble plinth. 12 1/2" h., 10 1/2" l.

Note:This figure was originally conceived and a plaster version executed as a pendant to "La Grande Laveuse" or "water", a female figure. Renoir worked with a sculptor by the name of Guino who did the modeling of the two figures from sketches by Renoir. Before the bronze could be cast, the collaboration dissolved, and thus the present cast was done at a later time.
Condition: excellent, no damage or repair.
