Jacobi was a painter of landscapes and hunting scenes who also worked as an illustrator. Born in Schwabach, he trained under von Raab, Diez, and Seitz at the art academy in Munich.

Condition: Surface soil, most visible in creases in pigment layer, stretcher marks, canvas may have been rolled at one time, relined since.
