260. A Fine and Unusual Viennese Dining Room Suite, circa 1900

Comprising; dining table with eight side chairs and two arm chairs, large buffet with attached vitrine, cabinets and marble top, sideboard with marble top, vitrine cabinet, and tall clock. All in mahogany, the pedestal base table with white painted columnar columns flanking. The chairs marquetry inlaid with fans paterae and bellflowers, raised on squared tapering legs, the large buffet with demi-lune green marble top over long drawers and a pair of hinged doors, inlaid with files of Egyptian Goddesses in mother of pearl and abalone with a pair of vitrine cabinets flanking, each with stepped inlaid pediments over lotus mullioned glazed doors, the sideboard and vitrine cabinet similarly constructed, all applied with an undulating brass panel at the foot. Bearing the label "A. Pasternak, M. Geiringer Vienna."

The curved crestrail centered by foliate decoration over a baluster shaped back splat with floral sprig flanked curved stiles trimmed in gold and painted with a floral and leafy vine, the padded seat over a wide seatrail centered by a floral sprig raised on cabriole legs with carved knees leading to padded feet with foliate design.
