Cast as two plated silver putti flanking a sheaf of wheat, issuing forth a faceted clear crystal stem, all raised over a leafy base with four scrolled leaf base, unmarked. 9" h.

The walnut case with silvered label "Hamilton Watch Company, Lancaster, PA, U.S.A.", the double hinged top, one with solid top revealing a glzed surface, the interior housing a chronometer in brass case the face with arabic numbering, and labeled "Hamilton, Lancaster, PA, U.S.A.", reverse engraved "MTD Watch, Bureau of Ships, U.S. Navy", AN within a circle, 6134 1942.

Fitted with a band embossed "Atlantic Telegraph Cable Guaranteed Tiffany and Co. Broadway New York" descriptive plaque. Note: The Trans Atlantic Telegraph Cable spanning between Ireland and Newfoundland was completed August 5, 1858. Tiffany and Company bought sections of the cable to retail as souvenirs.
