375. A Persian Kashan Carpet, 19th Century

The central field woven with a detailed floral medallion that is extended on four sides by palmettes, on a detailed ground of budding flowers and palmettes on curling branches, all inside numerous borders, the primary border woven with meandering vines and palmettes, all in plum, navy, tan, creme, medium blue, and hints of pink and orange. Wool pile on cotton warp. 54" x 80".
