378. A Persian Qashqai Carpet, 19th Century

The central field woven with diagonal rows of pinwheel flowers inside numerous borders of checkerboard and diamond motifs, the primary border woven with octagonal hook medallions alternating with stylized arrows, all in navy, pale red, creme, light blue, yellow, green, and brown. Wool pile on wool warp. 58" x 108".

Condition: pile worn but even, selvages and warp in excellent condition, some variation in bluew background of central field.
