| 380. A Small Persian Mazlaghan Carpet, late 19th - early 20th Century
Woven with a central losenge extended on two ends by a smaller losenge surrounded by a single vine with serrated leaves and small flowers, all inside a large losenge ground. The background of the central rectangular field is woven with parallel lines of consecutive flowers inside a primary border of stylized scorpion motifs. Wool pile on cotton warp. 39" x 55".

Condition: pile very worn but even, one small repair near center, warp ends worn to border but secured by a woven thread, selvages in good condition.
