The brown lacquer form with scrolled gilt metal clasp opening to a gilded interior centered by a carved rootwood seated Buddha, flanked by a turtle and snake, with two warrior gods protecting the deity.

Condition: Warrior god on left side has been broken at legs and reattached, wear to gilding on interior of shrine and some wear to lacquer exterior.
