15. A Silver Gilt Enameled Salt Throne, Nicholai Alexeyev, Moscow, Russia, Late 19th Century

In the form of a stylized Russian izba, with slanted enamel rafters surmounted by two cloisonne roosters, the rest enameled in turquoise, red, light blue, and cobalt with stylized geometric patterns in champleve enamel, the hinged lid inscribed in Cyrillic "L.I. Mandel", opening to reveal the interior, inscribed "From the Trading Firm of Novikov, Egorov, and Co., September 3, 1894", raised over four ball feet, stamped with makers and date marks. 7 1/2" h., 3 1/2" w., 3 3/4" d.
