The oval basket with a hinged lid, surmounted by an oval scrimshaw plaque depicting two tall ships on a coastline with a lighthouse, swing handle, opening to reveal the lid interior mounted with a carved ivory seagull, the basket handles with scrimshaw hinges depicting water fowl, all raised on four scrimshaw pad feet with whales, signed.
