736. A Trio of George Skey Majolica Bear Jugs, Wilnecote Works, Staffordshire, England, circa 1880

In three graduated sizes, each modeled as a growling bear, sitting on his haunches, holding a spoon over one shoulder, applied with a spoon handle, glazed brown with a turquoise interior, the details picked out in black, the bottom of two bears impressed "George Skey Wilnecote Works Nr.Tamworth". Large: 10 1/4" h., medium: 9 3/4" h., small: 9" h.
