| 878. A Persian Kashan Carpet, late 19th, early 20th Century
Woven at one end with a flower filled urn flanked on either side by a smaller stylized urn issuing a long vine of flowers, all under hanging flowers woven as a lantern and two smaller lanterns issuing a long vine of flowers, two corners and two sides of the field decorated with scrolling vines and leaves, all inside various borders, the primary border woven with meandering leaves, and flowers, all in reddish-rose, dark navy, greenish-brown, and hints of pink, medium blue, and yellow. Wool pile on cotton warp. 40" x 58".
