880. A Persian Kashan Carpet, mid 20th Century

Comprising a primary central four-pointed medallion enclosing a smaller similar four-pointed medallion, extended on two ends by a small palmettes, all inside a larger oval cartouche with decorative edges, the entire central field filled with elegant floral patterning, all enclosed by a primary meandering floral border and three secondary borders, all woven in rich red, blue, creme, peach, brown, and medium blue. Wool pile on cotton warp.
