892. A Persian Carpet, Portrait of George V, early 20th Century

Woven as a portrait of George V in military garb. Above his head reads the phrase "His Majesty King George V," all inside an oval woven with cartouches stating phrases in cufic script and bordered by flowers, the four corners of the carpet woven with roses, all in tan, shades of brown, navy, teal, and creme. Wool pile on cotton warp.
